I'd like to get a small quality folder with special wood or bone handles(mammoth be nice...) It's for light cutting duties, fruits, snacks, cheese etc.More decoration than devastation...but prefer the action of a single-hand folder to a lockback.Ideas and or pictures welcomed here thanks!

In customs.

One of the DPOJ knives from Bill Vining. I have one of these myself and its a wonderfully made light duty gents folder. My 440C blade he did to order for me in an incredibly thin hollow grind is very nice and his filing job is second to none in my collection. I carry it a lot. Bill does good work and in my opinion his prices are still quite good for the quality of his craftsmanship. I've spent more and not recieved near as good of a knife.

Oh, mine is the bottom one in box elder burl with the nice file work along the spine also done to order for me at my request.

I don't know if Ray Cover does one hand opening more modern knives but I do know that his fit and finish is second to no one elses and he makes one heck of a gents knife. I've never seen a bad knife from him and his prices are way cheap for what you get in my opinion.

In quality production folders. Look at the HK14210 by BenchMade. This knife, in my opinion is the finest production gents knife around. Apologies to Spyderco and Kershaw as I know they make some nice ones too but this HK line from BM is just awesome in quality of the parts, the strength of the lock, the finish and smoothness of the blade action. All around this one is hard to beat and at just over $100 its a tough one to even complain about from any angle. I got my HK from New Graham knives. http://newgraham.com/detail.aspx?ID=5125

I've been looking for a small production sub 2.5 inch folder for carrying in Chicago. I've been looking at Spyderco Kopa's (they have a bunch of different scale choices), Nemesis Imp, and the Buck Koji folder.

I absolutely love my Caly III and the Caly IV is suposed to be pretty much the same knife with a 2.5 inch blade. So I'm thinking about just waiting for that to come out.

I like some of the William Henry blades, but they're so expensive and pretty that I'd be too afraid to use one.

Those True North Knives are mouthwatering! The William Henry Da Vinci is fantastic but the prices are so eye-watering that you could never dare take them out of the bank-vault! Thanks for all the help so far. Is real tortoise-shell used any more on handles?
