suggestions? getting my first left handed emerson CQC8 or CQC7

hello everyone!

while i am waiting for a custom fixed blade which should take another two or three months i figured in the meantime i would finally order my first emerson

stonewashed/plain

i really like the shape of the CQC 8 best

but on the other hand the CQC 7 is readily available tapped for left hand use

the CQC 7 seems rather small to me?

what would you get frist?

I was eyeballing those, but I've bought too many knives lately. I'll probably have a 7 drilled and tapped for left hand carry.

OP, the 7 isn't small, but it's definitely smaller than the 8. Both carry well, but the blade shape of the 8 makes it a little more friendly to everyday tasks. If you like big knives, go with the 8 and have it drilled and tapped, several of the pimpers will do this for you, or you can send it in to Emerson to have it done. I've got both and I always carry a 7, the 8 doesn't always get carried.

maybe the 7 is just the right size for edc - but the blade of the cqc 8 is just awesome

i might need more than one emerson anyway - although i am getting back at fixed blades at the moment
 
Just got a CQC-10 today. If you haven't looked at this model yet, you should. I've heard several people with more experience in Emerson knives than me recommend it as the first. I see why, it feels great in the hand, is just the right size and has a great blade shape.

I actually got the 8 before the 7. You really do need both.
