suggestions needed...watches

So im looking for a new watch for the longest time ive used different big 5 $19.99 specials. But im looming for a quality watch. Ive looked at a couple invictas and shuhrlings. On a couple different websites. But what else is out there.
basic needs. Prefer metal bands or leather, black bands, gitd, day/date function in that order. Also trying to stay under $70shipped.

Stay away from Invicta and Stuhrling. You didn't say if you want a mechanical watch or a quartz watch, that is a big question. I prefer mechanical watches for most things, but I have a few quartz watches too. It will be hard to find a good quality watch for under $70, you might have to look closer to $100 depending on the style that you want. Also you have to be careful where you shop because watches in most stores will cost twice or three times what you can buy them for on the net. I buy lots of watches from ebay but also through various watch forums, sort of like buying a Spyderco on our forum vs. buying one from a department store.

Casio, Seiko, Citizen and Orient will be the best brands to consider in our price range. Check around on ebay and various watch forums and you will start to get an idea of what you can find.
