I've been out of the knife hobby for a while and have consolidated my collection down to just a handful. Recently got the urge to get a new blade but I've been away so long I feel overwhelmed at all the new brands and options.

What I'm looking for is a classy-ish blade that has carbon fiber sides or accents. Price around or under $500.

My mind goes to a sebenza but I wonder if there's anything that has come out in the past few years I should also look into. Any help is appreciated!

How about a Liong Mah Midtech Eraser?

I think it looks fab and if I had $500 to spend on a frame lock, I'd buy one.

I like my Southern Grind Spider Monkey. Carbon fiber, titanium and S35V. Made in Georgia, USA.

Ditto the recommendation for the Southern Grind Spider Monkey.

The "sculpted" contours of the carbon fiber are a thing of beauty.

One of the finest, value-rich knives I own.

Sebenza 21 in carbon fiber is great. Also recommend the reate horizon d in carbonfiber if you want a tactical flipper, top notch (any reate really).

knife art 21 is a great way to go. if i had 500 burning a hole, i'd sit on some exchanges and wait for something interesting. CF is everywhere, discounted customs and midtechs will pop up as fast as you can look. wait for your definition of classy and go go go. fun way to shop (when you have spare change) if nothing else

If you can find a used Shamwari 3.25 inch in CF they are really the ultimate edc knife imho. Something like a medium sized Sebenza front flipper.

Other than that I doubt you are going to find a much better built knife than the Chris Reeves. They have the Knife Art exclusives with a solid CF front scale and also versions with CF inlays.

Apparently the full cf front scale knife art versions were having centring issues thiugh. Not sure if that has been corrected.

Never handled one?
No but I have a Liong Mah GSD Tuxedo and it's excellent. In fact, I'd recommend it as a "classy EDC" but it doesn't fit the CF bill. There's a CF version of the GSD but I don't think it looks as good as the Tuxedo version or the CF Eraser.

Isn’t the Eraser quite large though?

Left handed only as far as I can tell.

hahah ask one if that's ever been true. mnandis come in right and left hand framelocks. both have nail nicks on both sides and reversible pocket clips. on BHQ lefties are the only CF exclusives in stock ATM. great suggestion here. though mnandis are a bit of an oddball in that CF may be the low end of the classiness spectrum for that knife. think it looks good tho.

I would suggest Liong Mah as well. Just the smaller one's.
