Suggestions on fixing a failing liner lock?

Hello All,
I have Timberline Worden Design. The liner lock is very weak and it doesn't take much at all to close. I fear it closing on my hand if the need for serious use arises. Even if I push the liner over so it sits at the midpoint of the blade, it still fails with minimal pressure on the spine. I have never abused it with hard spine-whacking. Aside from returning it, is there anything I can do to "tighten" the mechanism?

Thanks in advance.
FM.

Many times just tightening the pivot screw will help this problem, but it sounds like yours may be beyond that.

Some people have said that after several moderate spine whacks the lock will set itself, never needed to try it myself but that may work for you.

I've found that when I'm in doubt I won't carry the knife.

Best bet may be to send it in. If you would rather risk ruining it than sending it in you could try disassembling it and seeing if you can pinpoint the problem. It could be as simple as a burr on the liner mechanism.
