Chaps, I'm looking for an EDC that will please the eye, here is the criteria

Carbon blade about 3 inches.
Wood or bone handle (Wood preffered)
Slip joint (Obviously :D )
Single blade, but if I must a double would be OK
Spearpoint blade or similar (If possible hollow ground too)
Brass or Nickle silver bolsters (bolsters not a necessity though)

Any input appreciated

As a student of old pocket knives, specializing in Pennsylvania made knives, I recommend that you consider one of the reissues of the Schatt and Morgan, made by Queen. Wonderful to look at and extremely well made for the money.I am curious about your comment on wood verses bone. I have always perfered bone over wood. Reason being it looks ten times better to me, but you may have a practical reason for perfering wood. Just curious.

Thanks guys, the main site was down for maintenence but I did get to see a few models. They look pretty much like I had hoped for.

As for wood vs bone, I prefer the look of a quality wood, especially Desert Iron wood or Cocobolo.

Cheers

anyone got a Baby Butterbean from Case?

Queen Teardrop Jack with cocobolo scales. It has a D2 steel spearpoint blade with a linerlock feature, I got one a couple of weeks ago and couldn't be happier. It rides in a pocket very nicely, and is a beautiful knife to boot. Hope I could help. Joe

I've owned a couple of Baby Butterbeans......none in any kind of wood. All have been bone. The spearpoint main blade makes the knife seem/work much larger than a peanut or tiny trapper. They are nice knives, if you can hand pick one.

Bill
