Both seem very similar in size, weight, build quality, etc. I prefer the looks of the Dendra but also realize that a knife is a tool and I plan to use it...hiking, hunting, fishing, camping, etc. I've read a few reviews (there aren't many) mentioning that the Dendra has Teflon washers (seems to be an issue for some/not others), is sometimes a bit tight / difficult to flip, etc.

I would appreciate opinions on which you would go with and why. Thank in advance.

Dendra has a 3.75" blade not 4" and same thickness blade as the 0200 which has a 4" blade. The flippers on the Dendra knives are not the smoothest so some consideration there. It may come down to choosing the D2 tool steel versus the 154CM stainless steel. Both are well made.

Thanks for your response. I'm assuming the Dendra's flipping action will loosen up over time but are Teflon washers a potential concern with respect to long term durability, blade play, etc?

It looks like 154CM is more rust resistant but D2 is a bit stronger / keeps an edge longer?

These knives are very heavy,& big in the pocket, they arent too easy to carry. i had a 0200,great knife, but it was like a brick in the pocket....

I don't know about the typhoon, but I love my 0200! One of the most well built soild folders I have ever had. Well worth more than it's price.

I realize that these are big / heavy knives but I don't mind since my primary concern is durability. I'm sure that I will follow this purchase with something smaller for edc, etc.

I have to vote for the ZT 0200 if heavy use is your biggest concern!

I don't have the Typhoon but do have the Dendra Deer Hunter which is also a liner lock. It's actually pretty smooth now (flipped it a few times just now) but I've had it since last year and broke it in. It's solid just like the ZT 0200.

D2 does have fairly decent corrosion resistant for a tool steel, is tougher and has better edge retention than 154CM but a little more work to get the edge back.

ZT 0200 does give you an extra quarter inch of blade length and can be with partial serrations but mostly black blades (there's a bead blasted blade version also). Typhoon comes only in plain edge stonewashed.
