I'm looking to upgrade my current EDC (Benchmade 551). I want to stick with the Axis Lock, something around the same size. Keep it under $150. I'm thinking about the Mini-Rukus?

I had almost said: "you owe it to yourself to try a Boker Trance: affordable, very portable and surprisingly sturdy".

Instead, aiming higher: you may want to check a Spyderco Delica variant with the hyped ZDP blade.

The Mini-Rukus is one of hell of an upgrade from a 551. You should definitely go for it! Also, check it out the new Kulgera.

BTW, the Delica is not an upgrade. THe Rukus trumps it.

Edit: Oh, somehow I read your OP as "I want something smaller, but still with an axis lock..." I think the "Mini" in mini rukus stuck that in the back of my head. Apologies.
 
Check out the brand new Benchmade Rift!!:thumbup: Awesome blade shape, reverse tanto I believe, and the two colored machined G-10 handle is SWEET! Also has an axis lock, just like you want!!
