Hi,

Just saw this story about Sugru on CNN's web site.

I've never heard of it before, but it looks like it might be a great addition to our BOBs, survival kits, etc. Looks like it might also be good to take on canoe trips, in case of damaged hull, or hikes to fix footware.

Anyone here have experience with it?

I wondered how long it stays "fresh" in the package... found on the web site that it's 6 months. If it's in a BOB or other long-term survival-type kit, people would need to keep track of that (I do that anyways for my water purification tablets)

I have some and have used it for all kinds of repairs. It's great stuff. Just know that it has a "use by" date of about 6 months I think...

Also consider a small tube of "Goo." (Shoe Goo, Household Goo, Plumber's Goo - all seems to be the same - self-vulcanizing rubber) It is good for years when sealed and for many months after some has been used.
