Hey all! I just finished these two for a great client. The sujihiki is in AEB-L 63HRC, wearing walnut pants with a nickel silver belt. It is wicked wicked sharp with a very thin grind for a wonderful cutting experience. I use water stones with AEB-L, lapped on 1 micron diamond/leather, ~12° per side.
The Cibolo Creek hunter is in thin K390, cryoed and triple tempered to 65HRC. This thing was a beast to hand sand. I got a hold of 220 mesh diamond pads and then finished with 220 SiC wet/dry paper. The black micarta was taken to 1200 grit. The edge was done on the complete DiaSharp progression, finished on 1 micron diamond lapping film. ~15° per side. The edge still has a lot of bite.
As always, thanks for looking!
