Summer is coming... how to carry everything discreetly?

Here comes the hot weather. :( Now I'll have to leave those many-pocketed jackets at home and venture out into the world clothed only in a t-shirt and jeans. I might have to start wearing cargo pants all the time for the extra pockets. Anyone else hate summer?

Not meaning to make this a "what do you carry" thread, but how does everyone else carry all their stuff without wearing a jacket or vest?

Here's what I normally carry on my belt during the winter:

Belt at 0900: Strider MFS in a kydex sheath
Belt at 0800: Surefire E2e in a kydex sheath
Belt at 0300: SOG Powerlock in a kydex sheath

Besides that, everything else goes in the front pockets. I occasionally carry the Surefire clipped to the left pocket, but bezel-up carry means I get waaaaaay too many people asking me why I carry a flashlight in my pocket.

I think I'm going to stop carrying my Strider as often as I do during the winter to avoid any hassle with ambiguous state law. It's normally parked right next to my Surefire on the belt, and it makes it look like I'm carrying a handgun there.

Any suggestions as to how I could carry all my winter stuff without looking like a walking kydex display?

.380 NAA in right front pocket,
EDC's clipped to cargo pockets on both sides.
Neck claw

Or:

2 EDC's in the front pockets of jeans
NAA 380 guardian in wallet holster in right rear
Neck claw

Or:

EDC's in cargo's
neck claw
640-1 .357 tucked into the waistband with "hip grip" and shirt unbloused ever so slightly over the handle.

Then we can get creative if necessary:confused:

Current carry(been warm enough for the last 2 weeks to consider it summer):

belt:
FB03 lum tanto at 3 (in tip forward edge down cant)
LM crunch at 5
BM 5W Rescue hook at 7
flashlight of choice at 8
'beiner with keys at 10

then my usual right, left, wallet, right dropped, and neck carry(outside of shirt).
only wallet and dropped are not accessable to either hand, the rest is.

Either I'm not getting odd looks, or just not paying attention anymore.

yog> I'd say so... right now I have 8 on me, and the holster for my light(newly purchased work beater, Mag 2D)... 2 on keys, but they're hanging up by the door. Mag is by my cellphone on the counter.

This morning I was running around with JUST the 'fly on my neck. Jogging pants that don't have any string in the waist anymore so I can't put my 3 belt carry on(endura, millie, fb03). Made it till lunch like that(not getting up till 1030 helps), then had to cook.

I usually tone down my carry during the summer as jeans just aren't bearable when it's a heat index of 110 degrees and 100% humidity. So when I wear cargo shorts, I pack my edc in my cargo pocket.

Have you ever considered a bag of some sort ? Maybe a fanny pack/ bum bag (or whatever they're called these days??) or a small shoulder bag ? I use or Samsonite shoulder bag for EDC stuff or a cool new Hedgren waist bag for going light.

Using a bag of some description also make it easier to take off all your gear at the end of the day.

Just a thought :)

Try using a fanny pack, or some sort of belt pack.

I hate fanny packs, and would rather not use one, but it is difficult to conceal a handgun while wearing shorts & a tanktop.

I also throw my mult tool, and my 6-P in the fanny pack, so I have everything that I normally carry on my belt during milder weather.

If anyone has any alternatives to a fanny pack for handgun concealment while in shorts, please let me know.

What brand of fanny pack do you use CODE 3 ?

I just got a new Hedgren one and so far it works well.

Don't have to worry much about discretion in Tejas, not for knives at least. Now that pesky "Concealed" part of the "Concealed Handgun Law" we have is tricky...

:D

For hot weather, I clip my Endura lightweight to the cargo pocket on my shorts. Almost feels like nothing's there. :)

Not like I know what I'm talking about or anything, not like I haven't been doing this for the last 10 years or so, and not like it would work for 'you'...but it sure does work for me anyway...

Being that it's kinda 'hot and casual' here in SoCal, the following 'does' work for me, albeit 'unauthorized', that being, without adult supervision and all...

A ball cap...ball caps are cool! Sunglasses, it's bright out here! Teva sandals, all that sand/asphalt gets hot! Shorts, preferably the slip on 'beach shorts' type. A shirt, oversized and loose...comfy, looks cool, and 'you' appear to be larger than you actually are...

And underneath? Nah, not what you think...lol Nope, it's just a simple 1" web belt with a plastic clip/lock. A holster for the Glock 19 or S&W 'Airweight' Centennial, a place to clip on the FRN Spyderco of choice, a place to hang the 'change/ID pouch', and maybe an OC/Kubaton...

Life is good here, but it can be good 'there' too folks...loose pants, a loose shirt, and you're good to go... (YMMV)

I am currently experimenting with a summer vest. The Royal Robbins 5.11 Tactical Vest is light weight and well ventilated, while providing an enormous number of pockets for "stuff". It includes a spacious pair of hidden pockets for firearms, knives, and whatever else you don't want to advertise. Strangely, I haven't actually used the gun pockets yet, since the vest conceals my belt holster quite nicely.

So far I am finding the vest fairly comfortable even in really hot weather (Texas in June!). Indoors it only adds a little bit to the heat. Outdoors I am finding that it actually feels cooler with the vest on, I think because it blocks a lot more sun than a t-shirt. I guess I'll just have to see how I feel after a few more of these 100+ degree days...

i guess it all depends on what you wear in the summer, even with shorts if the shorts needs a belt then you can still carry your stuff on your belt. Or are you worried that a t shirt won't cover the gear well enough? If you wear shorts that don't require a belt like basketball shorts then i guess thats a bit of a problem. I usually just clip a lightweight folder to the waistband when i wear basketball shorts

It's simple for me. If it doesen't fit in my jeans pockets, I don't carry it. My EDCs are carried loose in my right front pocket. If carrying a second EDC, it will be in right rear pocket with a bandana. Left front pocket holds my keys with Arc AAA, and loose change. Left rear Holds my wallet with a Fisher Bullet. I gotta get a "clickie" switch for my E2e so I can carry it in my back pocket without locking it out. I sometimes carry a knife or anything else that fits the situation in the fifth pocket.

Take it easy, you are the only one who sees it :D I mean everybody sees the info about their computer.
On the server side this must be a script or an executable, on your side it takes some environment variables and builds the image using something like this http://www.php.net/imagestring than makes your browser display it like a png image.
It must have a bug though, it displays a wrong IP address for me.
