My search for this topic didn't turn up anything useful so ...

I have been looking for good affordable long sleeve shirts to stop mosquitoes from eating me alive and for protection from Sun burns. Bass Pro "World Wide Sportsman" line looks promising for Sun shine but, they seem pretty thin for mosquito country. What works for people in this forum?

THANKS!

You can always just spray the shirts down with Permethrin...should last all summer with one good application.

I use the short sleeve version of the Columbia Bonehead or Bahama. The large vent on the back makes them breathe very well. As far as I know thy were designed with Flats/Bone fishing in mind so they have great UV protection and are made to be rather cool in the FL sun.

They stretch great so there is no binding when moving and they're a tight enough weave that I haven't had an issue with mosquitoes.

They list for somewhere around $45 but I have found them both on-line at some of the camp and sportsman sites for around $20 and at the local JC Penny on the clearance rack. My last one was marked down to $11. It's a light yellow green but its for fishing and camping.

Without the vent back, check out the Silver Ridge.
