Starting to get nice out and i could use a couple of pairs of new shorts. Have a few pair of Tru Specs looking for something with a little better quality. Have to have cargo pockets lightweight and maybe adjustable waist. Looking at Propper and Vertx which are my favorite pants but I think there shorts might be a little on the heavy side for hot weather . Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I just got a couple pairs of Kuhl shorts at REI. They're cargo shorts and are nice and lightweight.
The model I got is the Raptr, in both colors available.

I pretty fond of Royal Robbins brand. They still have some with the 5 and 6 inch inseams. I hate the shorts that go to my knees or past.

Blackhawk makes a nice lightweight pair but they are pricey. Long inseam and good pockets with a flex waistband and crotch gusset.

my favorite shorts in the world::: TAD gear Amphibious cloth shorts :D

they're super high quality, great fit and stitching, well thought out pockets, and super lightweight. The only problem is finding some to buy :o

Those are nice 75 a pair your killing me man ...LOL.. went ahead got a pair of Proppers seem well built but won't be wearing them anytime soon. Seems they run real small have to send them back for a larger size. I have to stay away from nylon in my work I'm sometimes around sparks from saws learned a long time ago nylon and sparks don't mix.

sometimes Propper's just get mislabelled

Your absolutely right on that ordered 2 pair of large after i sent back the medium way to big. Those have to go back now won't ever buy Proppers again the freight back and forth is killing me.

L.L. Bean's canvas Pathfinder Shorts have 7" or 9" inseams, cargo pockets (velcro-closure), elastic in the waist, good cut and good quality. I wear them all summer in northern and southern Illinois. Bean has a "tropic-weight" version with 6 oz. cotton and a 6" inseam, but I haven't tried it.
