Hi all,
I have a older Viper treestand and wanted to get ideas on how to better carry it. The stock straps dig into my shoulders, not bad, but it is very noticable over longer hikes into an area. I was thinking of getting an alice pack and attaching the frame to the tree stand but I hate to re-invent the wheel.
How do you carry your stand?

Great minds and all that but I attached an alice frame with straps and waistbelt to my loggy bayou and would not dream of going back, the difference in the way the stand carries is daylight and dark, I feel like I could carry this stand hours now instead of it hurting my back as soon as I put it on. I used zip ties to attach it temporarily to see how it would work, I planned to drill the frame and stand and use bolts if I liked it, 3 years of hunting and it still has the zip ties. HAHAHA Chris

No problem, I set this up 3 years ago and have hunted it pretty hard every year since then. I am eventually going to drill and bolt it, much, much more comfortable than the stock straps.
