Inspired by the other post about shampoo, I wonder if any of you have seen such a thing? I've been looking for a while but haven't found it yet.

Since I'm a guy with less hair than I'd like (but enough to just barely cover the top of my head, but not for long) - I'd really like to find a shampoo that had sunscreen in it. Because what happens is I wash my hair, then use that spray on, alcohol-based sunscreen, but it makes my hair look like it has hairspray in it. I hate that. I'd much prefer a shampoo that had sunscreen in it that would impart the sunscreen benefits to my skin underneath, without ruining my doo. Make sense? Now that I've described it, I don't think it exists, at least I haven't found it yet. Anyone else seen such an animal?

Interesting need.
I'll wager the UV block in shampoo is for protection of the hair.
Cindy, do you know if it protects the scalp also?

I go with the hat. Cause I like hats :)

So far the hat is indeed the best protection, and my favorite hat is UnderArmour's baseball cap, with their UA material in the liner, and stretchfit. Great fitting, comfortable and good looking - but when I'm at a party or something I often don't want to wear a hat...so, hence the need.

I was also thinking the uv filter would be for the hair itself rather than the scalp...

The problem with putting normal sunscreen on your head after you wash your hair is that it's greasy and oily, and makes you look like you have greased hair, which I think is gross.

Did a google search and came up with this recurring product
Scalp sunscreen
Don't know anything about it. I'm blessed with a thick head of hair. Tho mostly silver, now :)

You know I'm not really sure, I have way too much hair and it takes 20 minutes to blow dry. Wow, I'm not sure what kind of shampoo would help in this situation for kinzli unless he checks out a salon that sells Paul Mitchell, Redken, Nexus,etc... deffinitly worth asking a beautician. I see more mens shampoos coming on the market (at last). Has to be a good product out there?

Interesting post. If you find a product that works for this, please post it here. I'm fortunate in that I follow my mom's side of the family and have a very thick head of hair. Photos of my dad when he was my age show his hair already thinning, and now he just trims it down to .25" with a Conair trimmer every few days. My wife, on the other hand, though she doesn't have thin hair, does work in a greenhouse and outside most of the year, and occasionally has problems with getting too much sun to her scalp.

Can't really beat a hat, though. I like the "Vineyard Haven" from Watership Trading Companie, but they make an awful lot of cool hats. http://www.watership.com/
