After Church this morning the twins & me decided to hit the hills & see what we could get into. On todays hike we took our Air Rifles (twins-Daisy BB gun & my Hammerli Storm .177 Pellet gun) The blades we had - Twins had their Koyote Custom that Christof made for them a couple of years ago & I had my New Ontario SP42 & my BK11 (backup blade) inside my Maxpedition 10x4 bottle kit. It was hot & humid & the bugs were eating us up(forgot the deet) bu we had a good time anyway ! Deer tracks everywhere ! Here are the pics -
The twins wanted a Kool-Aid Jammer after we hit the flat ground, it was a good up hill hike !

Nice! i cant wait till i can take my boy into the woods with me and let him carry a blade. He is only two and his mother had a fit when i tried to lash an izula to his huggies so i guess i have to wait a little longer jk :D

Thje last few pics...The Ontario SP42 is a knife you don't hear much about but I'm telling you I think it's a very under rated knife ! The Handle is very comfortable in the hand but I don't care much for the top guard on this knife. It seems to be light in the hand but it really surprised me at how well it chopped for a 6" blade ! This is the first time I've got a chance to try it out & I gotta say it's gonna be a keeper ! The sheath is JUNK ! but Kydex will come later ;)

We were gonna work on basic fire & some simple snares but a pop up thunderstorms sent us home early !

Sorry...some of the pics have a slight blurr to them, I got a new little camera & I'm just learning with it !

Coaldigger, those shots are what makes great memories. 25-30 years from now at a Christmas dinner or Thanksgiving dinner, those photos will be dug out from some old box and their 15 minutes of embarrassment shall begin . . . . :)
I still have pictures when I was 10 (now on the other side of 50) of my dad & I holding my first groundhog kill on my grandpa's farm. You can tell by your boy's looks & their grins they are having the time of their life.
Good for you passing on some outdoor skills to the next generation, too few and far between now a days.
Great job.
Be safe.

Looks like you guys had a good time out there. Providing good memories with the kids.
