All the bamboo root handles I've seen seemed very stable. It's dense and seems pretty hard. I think they will hold up really well. I've never cut a piece to see inside too good but have checkered some of her handles and it cuts pretty clean which is generally a good sign.
 
I think there might be a typo in the posting. The Foxy Folly is listed as having a bamboo root handle, but in the pictures it looks like a typical HI wood handle. You can see the difference, comparing it with the handle of the Special Katunje, which looks like typical bamboo root.

It's not always easy to identify wood type from a photo, and it depends on how finely polished the wood is. However, it seems pretty clear in the closeup photo of the Foxy Folly. I'm a wood guy, so I'm a bit obsessive about these things. :)
 
I agree. Im sort of a wood guy too but that FF looks Satisal to me. That Katunje looks like the bamboo i have.
