Wow this is the best looking Farm knife in horn handle!

I gotta behave despite the HIKV attacks...a shipment is coming to Penang!

Looks like it has a sort of window breaker on the end of the tang even... very cool!

Again, not able to do it sadly.

Oh man, I'd love to get that. Unfortunately I had an accident with the one I already have and nearly cut off my finger, costing me a long stay in the ER lobby and a couple hundred dollars to get it stitched back up.
Morbidly so, it only reassured me that this is a great model of knife.

This piece would be a real workhorse.

Great testimonial test on your real finger! It's a good knife isn't it?

Just joking, take care man! Get well soon!

ElSitherino,

You have to take precaution.

This knife cuts like a Guillotine !

Take good care

Jay

I wonder, will any of these will be offered in high polish or perhaps a matte finish (no forge scale)? I know many prefer it rough finish like this but I've always been partial to the mirror finishes.

I suppose you could sand-blast the blade to give it a matte finish.:p

Thanks for the tip. I read about that on the other thread. I sure don't want it biting me. I'm sure that I'll like it too. Looks like a good worker...now to find a tree.

I can say enough awesome things about the Farm Knife.

I'm still working out a quick draw sheath. Tried making one, but the fit was way too tight. Might have been a bust, but it was kinda fun messing around. I'll see if I can loosen it up at all.

I'm handled a lot of knives and obviously lots and lots of HI products, I will say that the FK is serious business. Mine seems to have the soul of a socially avoidant mercenary.

"Draw me, do business (mundane chore or 'social' I don't care), do not dilly dally, do not fondle. I am made to cleave. I am made to rend. In a serious scrape I will build you shelter, I will help you create fire, I will destroy bodily threats with finesse and violence....but don't not screw around with me. I am made to cut, and I care not whom."

Powerful spirit in this one. I keep it close always. Partly because it fills me with confidence. Partly because it fills me with dread. I literally don't like turning my back on it:eek:

Considering it went halfway through my index-finger knuckle with only the force of gravity, it certainly does. Luckily I was able to save the rest of my fingers with swift reaction, but the tip managed to do some good damage. I just have to wait for the bone to heal up, in a few days the tendon will be fused back together.
I used this as a reminder for my friends that as cautious as we may be, accidents can and will happen, so we must make every effort to minimize the damage that can be done.
I guess lucky for me, my knife likes me, considering how the whole event unfolded.

Let us know how you enjoy your purchase stickfred

I think that is the first time I have seen Stick shark anything....
I think the bulk of his stuff came from the secondary mkt until just now. :)

I'll have what he's having!:D:p

I've been waiting and particular lately, warty. But I have gotten a few from DOTD in the last 5 months. Lets see; an ASTK, a Hasiya, a Katunje and the larger Salyan on Uncle Bill day. Truth is I've probably got more than I need now and am getting close to finishing off the group soon...unless something else comes along to set off the HIKV again.

You could probably contact Aunty Yangdu to have one made up like that for you. Truth be told, when I originally drew up the design, I had a villager fit and finish in mind. However, other contributors overruled me :p I have to say that it did work out pretty well though - the forge scale makes it feel more like a user and the contrast between it and the grind really shows off the extremely wide bevel.

Ouch - sorry to hear you got bit mate! I've had a few small slip-ups with my razor sharp kukris, but nothing a bit of superglue didn't fix. I'd imagine that the fairly thick spine and very acute edge of the FK could certainly do a good deal of damage with just a slight slip. Luckily I haven't gotten bitten by mine just yet.

You definitely got a good snag there mate. I'm usually not as much a fan of horn because it tends to be somewhat plain. Not the case with yours though! That's some sweet grain in that horn!
