Sunday go to Meetin' knife..

🤣

So, I have this box, and in this box, there are five drawers, each with a specific theme. This theme is "Old fashioned pocketknives - patterns from 1869 - 1929" and they also double as great gentlemanly knives.

Then, I also have a drawer with... kind of some fancy knives, some plain utilitarian ones like the RAT2, but they are still nice. Should have included that whole drawer, but took some special ones out on this record. Also, white graphic SAKs and K390 Dragonfly Wharncliffe.

That brown handled Spyderco with the m4 blade is an interesting one...

That is some very esoteric proto-crust you're rockin, there.

Haha, I know the comment was a joke, but it as about as old-school as old-school Scandinavian death metal gets, this one was released in '91, and then the band became a famous black metal band. I do like me some crust though.... "POLICE! POLICE, BASTARD!"

But I do like that song you linked, even though it's more of the "modern hardcore" variety, aka "Military Wife Metal" which I do not mind and is not intented to be derisive, (Heck, Pantera, Hatebreed, King 810, all of that could be described that way, and I love them!) and I love the leads and the breakdown being something different than the average, something closer to a classic thrash crossover breakdown, I love it! Even though I prefer traditional punk and hardcore, I do enjoy that. :)

Now, back to the thread, though, we are derailing, haha.

I thought that demo came out in '89. I can't lie, I think Wolves in the Throne Room is about the best black metal out there, although that's heresy to a lot of poeple I talk to. I'm way deeper into the stoner fuzz and post-Sabbath fuzzy groove stuff. The more crusty metal is really hit or miss, like knives - you gotta separate the sweet from the chaff.

Dude, you should check out the "Metalheads Untie" (yes, untie) thread, literally my whole last posts were Witchcraft, Pentagram, was gonna post Witchfinder General later, all that really old-school "classic" doom! I love that stuff.

You'll love those bands if you like that Sabbath-y stoner psychedelic blues sound. That Witchcraft album sounds like it was recorded 30 years ago. Pentagram was set to be the American Sabbath if their singer wasn't so messed up (story about it in a doco, Last Daze here) but I promise when I say, they're really that good, if you don't already know them. You should come to that thread, though, love the fact that metalheads populate the board!

30 seconds in to Witchcraft and already in the zone. Thanks, that made my day.

I don't do formal but here's a knife capable of buttoning up:

Yessir. That and the KNP-edition Micro Evo get a lot of pocket time at work. The Timascus Mini Evo is preordered, and that will probably take over for a while. Reate kills it with Nadeau's designs.
Just looked it up, gonna make a nice carry! When are supposed to get it in? I saw that the pre-order was sold out.

Dressing up is against my religion.

The last time I wore a suit was in 2019 at my grandfathers funeral. I was so sick and skinny the only suit we could find of mine that fit was the one I wore when I graduated high school in 1997. Normally, I wear khaki pants or shorts to work, and a polo or such. So, I don't really have "dress up knives" per se.

It’s been years since I’ve been anywhere that I had to really get dressed up, and all I had then was my trusty SAK Spartan. And yes, that went with me everywhere. Dress-up knife today would be this guy.

Anything from good jeans (one or two holes at most, but no oil stains) to business-casual would be Mr. Buck here.
