Went for a hike up the hill in back of my house after breakfast today.
It's kinda cold :D
Unfortunately I only brought the Batac this time.

This is before sunrise, digging in ice.

Frozen stump, anyone?

The knife is in there somewhere.

A, finally, sunrise! Unfortunately it didn't break through to me yet...

Batac Icescapades (sp?)

I never thought the Batac was a chopper, but the tree fell in half a minute.

The view from where I chopped down the tree.
I live by the fjord down there.

This is a large anthill by norwegian standards.
Batac is there for measure.

Got home and had some sausage.

Life is good

WOW!! Great pics!! Love that view down to the fjord. Spectacular!!

Looks like a lot of fun

Beautiful scenery and thanks for the pics

BTW that is one HUGE ant hill

Great Sunday morning you had!
Spaceweather com shows Borealis activity in your neck of the woods? See any last night?

Didn't see any last night, but that would be because I was inside :D
Aurora borealis is a beautiful spectacle indeed :)
It's quite common here, and once in a while we get the red color (my favorite).
Mostly it's a bright green/yellow though.

It is very nice to share pics of your part of the world; thanks a lot!
Nice knife too

That's a beautiful place you live in! Thanks for sharing the pics. I still can't get over that anthill. Freakin' HUGE!

Thanks for the kind words, everybody ;)

Just got a call from my dad:
Him: Wanna come join your mom and I for dinner?
Me: I dunno, watcha havin?
Him: Pork and...[interrupted by me]
Me: I'm in!

Perfect sunday!

All the best,
Gunnar

Excellent pics! Thanks for sharing them! :thumbup:Awesome, real awesome scenery! :thumbup:BATAC is great hiking companion - not too large, not too small, just right, and yours has the color combo I like the most.

Gunnar,

Where in Norway do you live? I got to visit Bergen back in '91 when I was in the Canoe Club (USS Scott (DDG-995)) and thought it was one of the nicest places I had ever seen.

Great pics.

I like the icicle pics and the pictures of the fjord are absolutely beautiful.

Thanks for sharing all of that.

I live a good 300 miles north of Bergen, in Romsdal county (google Trollveggen or Trollstigen for pictures from around here).
Bergen is a nice town, I've been there a lot

Chickenplucker; sorry to disappoint you, they're just the regular mundane ant :D
The holes you see were most likely made by a fox or badger (not mine though) looking for free lunch.
The ants are hidden deep inside during winter, I guess I could go back and get a few shots come spring and warmer weather.

Thanks again for the kind words, I really appreciate it :)
