After two uneventful days chasing stags that refused to co-operate,we decided to head out for a Sunday afternoon fish...April is a good time of the year for fishing...From the time we launched the boat to when we were back on land was 1 hour and 45 minutes.....

LLOYD trapper made easy work on cleaning the fish

Smoked Kahawai (Sea trout)....Just beautiful !!!....Anyway that was our Sunday and it sure was good to try my new knife out... FES

That looks delicious Fes... I want a slice of fresh homemade bread and a large piece of these on top :)
Oh and the Lloyd is a beauty too ;)

Good lord, Fes! That sets my mouth to watering. Some cold brew, and smoked fish, a dinner fit for a king.:thumbup:

Thanks for posting, looks like you had a blast. This thread has driven me to the conclusion, that while nice to have, a Fillet knife isn't absolutely necessary to process fish with. A regular old slipjoint, can do a grand job.

Is there a better way to preserve fish?? I'd say no!!
Nice harvest, and thanks for the vicarious pleasure!!

I'm sorry you had no good fortune on the stags, but the fishing looks like an excellent Plan B!

MAMBA..apparently they keep better on the hoof??....Unseasonably warm weather has meant a poor roar so far..in fact i havent heard one yet!!....Early days yet for them ungulates, and im sure we will strike in good time..Ive seen two young ones but who wants the monkey when the organ grinder is close at hand??....Agreed on plan B....Thank you all for the comments and if i could post you all some i would....The fish was superb but the roe was better !! FES

GREAT to see Fes! Like to see the younger generation joining in on the fun!!
Enjoy!

Dave

Great haul Fes  Looks like a grand day out :)

FES, your pictures are always an education for me-- the settings, the objects, the undertakings-- so unlike anything I encounter or attempt in my life. (I had at first written, "in my day-to-day life," but took out "day-to-day" because that left room for "ever." Heh.)

Thanks for these!

Whenever most anyone else talks about knives "at work," I often think of you, ie, "You ain't seen nothing yet." :)

It's great seeing the barlow in the mix, a known quantity to me. Yours lives a much more adventurous life than any of mine.

The fish look great!

Smoked fish looks awesome. What kinds of fish are they? Fez - When I saw the title "Sunday on the Briny" I was afraid Briny might be some kind of libation. :D

Thanks for showing us that catch.
