This is a pretty cool discovery I think: I went to the woodworking store & found something I hadn't seen before - ceramic kitchen knife blades! This one looked nifty for $30 (the white ones were $20 but sold out) so I got a chance to use some Burlsource wood I bought last month: walnut & maple with black linen micarta spacers. Figure I'll give it to the aunt, she likes to cook. And for $30 it's worth trying out the ceramic to see how fragile it is. Has anyone else tried these, or any ceramic blades?

Just remember to slice with them, my mom tried pushing through some chicken and when the edge made solid contact with the cutting board it put a large 1/4 in chip in the edge. The plus side is that they glide through food like a greased pig.
