Love 'em, esp. #1 with the green handle.

Surely there are many, including myself, who will remember picking up on the the Walter Brend signature blade profile early on while soaking up info from magazines or on-line - and being real attracted to it. It's a true knifeworld sign-post that almost everyone sees and recognizes during their time of involvement with knives.

I wonder what it takes and what all has to happen in order to wind up occupying such a marketing place of prominence. Must be related to Malcom Gladwell's assertions in the book Tipping Point and others that purport to explain how your name and/or signature blade profile (for example) can assume iconic status over time.

Pretty amazing if you stop and think about it. I bet someone(s) out there have tattoos of the Walter Brend stamp/logo. Gotta be. That's what Harley-Davidson achieved - epic iconic status in the marketing world. You know that when people tattoo your brand on their body, you have accomplished the ultimate, and apparently it is very rare.

Thanks for sharing these Brend knives, Dave. Would you agree with my characterizations above or am I off base?

Yeah, those dramatic, deep, hollow grinds do it everytime. Bill Luckett's rock also.

Walter's blend of mirrored hollows and satinfinished flats are stunning!

Not trying to start a battle but I am just curious why he needs to use the confederate flag as his stamp?

Ah, Walter Brend's knives always look amazing to me. I need one on my collection.
