Ok so since I have to wait for more etchant I figure I will mod something else while I wait. A couple people have been using the Rit dye on the tweener sheaths but that stuff is kind of a weak dye and I remembered I had some green dye left over from a custom job which should have no trouble on a tweener sheath. I think. ;)

Dye is tricky stuff to work with, you can always go darker but it is damn hard to go lighter.

Some dye stuff, Remember your play doh days? Green and light brown make a lighter green also lovingly known as baby poo. I'm shooting for an od/foliage or close to it

You have to dilute the stuff

No time to snap a shot dying, it was a quick dunk roll and out, easy to redunk if needed but not so easy if it's too dark.

Probably a couple hours til it's dry and I can see if it needs another quick bath, This stuff always dries lighter than you think. I'll check it out in the morning and see what we got and clean up the snaps and eyelets.

I wonder how the pb scales would do in the dye.........hmmm boiling alcohol based dye let's see, goggles and gloves, check, fire extinguisher, check....

Dude! u cliched ur sheath!

...ROFLMAO!

it does look nice, surprised to see u sullying ur hands on nylon though! how uncouth! ;)
I like that green. Hope it dries to a shade that suits ya.

Digging these dyed sheaths!!! Can't wait to get my regular production 16 so I can immediately dunk it in some dye!!

How hard would it be to go straight to black? Or a dark grey?

Black is the easiest color to dye anything, It only gets more black.

I'll get some more pics up in a bit but it came out somewhere in between foliage and od. I'll have to order in some white on my next dye order so I can make gray then mix green and gray for foliage.

Looks like you got an old Camillus sheath, now. Since these actually work, I like it!
