Are Sunfish style knives still being made? If so, where can I buy?

Confusion to the Enemy

Most major knife manufacturers make sunfish style knives. They are also called "Elephant's Toe(nail)" by some. I've recently see a number of them on ebay.

You may enjoy this thread from Mid July is Bernard Levine's Knife collecting forum here at BFC:

Many companies made and make these knives, try Case or Winchester. Older sunfish knives are also an interesting item for collecting. But know what you are doing before you start buying older production knives. Some are worth a lot more money than others. Some custom makers make them as well. At least one maker (name escapes me) specializes in making this pattern.

I found this at www.knifecenter.com

Winchester Sunfish

Have fun!

The only ones I'm aware of that are still in production are the Winchester Brand knives. These are made by Queen for Blue Grass Cutlery. There was another out about a year ago under the S&W name.

I love this pattern. I think the equal end one looks great. When we disscuss pocketknives made by factories remember that sizes are smaller then the purpose alot of times to save on materials, so it is hard to say more about a sunfish for me then that is a novelty more than anything. I carry one everyday to work and I really like it . I made mine so much better by chisling the small blade off the end and now it feels great in my hand. I am very enthusiatic about this alteration! May you soon be enjoying a sunfish of your own.

The last Case Sunfish knives made were the Case Classic's. These were also made by Queen for Case.
Some others still out there I just thought of are Bulldog knives and again Queen, making the John Primble, Kinfolks and the Family tree ones. Jim Parker carries many of these.

Love this pattern. Thought I would throw a picture up of a few in case there are some folks who do not know what they look like.
These are Case Classics.
