In any case that the pics might have strike your urge, it's not my photo-taking skills, it's the Kamis who made them looked so much delicious.

Thanks for the nice pics, Jay. I see that you've put your Salyan to work protecting you from some woolly monster-Good Work! (Nice lookin' dog you've got there.) The kamis continue to amaze me that they can take what is essentially scrap and turn it into a beautiful yet functional tool using techniques that many would consider primitive.

Nepal Ho.

Nice pix, I wish I had gotten the bigger one but at least it is in a good home. :)

I know I really love mine too, they're very beautiful knives.

no doubt but I will say this, Jay takes much better pictures than I do.
nice composition and flow to them, they all look great and in focus too.
I am not able to do this no matter how hard I try, I guess I have no art in me. :(

I do love the pictures of this blade though and have saved all of them.
He is too modest about his picture taking skills.

Dear Stickfred & Warty,

Thank you for your compliment.
I must have looked at the blade at least twice a day. At any angle, it oozes great beauty.
Now that you have the Super Salyan on the other post, i've saved all of them too.

Would Yangdu offer another SS up again in DOTD? Another model by Bura with the Antler's handle looked hot too.

I don't think the Super Salyans are made anymore except by special order which is not possible at this time.

Hi JayGoliath, the Devanagiri inscriptions on your blade basically says "Salyan" followed by "hee eee" or "HI" initials in Devanagiri.

Down by the bolster, the Kami's initials are "she baa" or "SB" in Devanagiri for Sher Bahadur.

Hope this helps!

Nice khukuri!

Wow thanks man.

Sta94, did you pick up Nepalese before?

Jay
He is originally from the neighboring Sikkim, Bhutan area. Many people there speak several languages. It sure is nice when he drops in to read these things for us and i really appreciate his help. Without it, i myself have to pour over several pages of devangari alphabet that i've saved and read the symbols. Here is a post he made awhile back that i've put on the Cantina Library shelves, Enjoy, it is a great read.

That was a lot of great info from sta94 in the linked article! Fantastic read!

Namaskar Karda, Yangdu as well as the great late Uncle Bill,

Nepal remains a very special place to me:

The Himalayas (Everest), Sherpas, Gurkhas, Khukuris and Sanskrits remained a myth to me.

I even told myself (hopefully my future wife) that i will choose Nepal/Tibet as the getaway for Honeymoon.

There's simply no place like it. ;)
