Great minds think alike I guess. I'm in South Carolina just east of Augusta GA. I had to take a picture.

Here is one I took a few months ago of the beach at Gaansbaai on the southern coast of the Western Cape.
This gentle looking stretch of water has the highest concentration of Great White Sharks on the planet.
Swimming is not recommended :D

Nice thread you've started and nice shot taken there too!

I travel a bit to Clearwater FL, we have an office there and they get some very
lovely sunsets too that are hard to pass up, here are two that I took while there
with a Canon Point and shoot G7
This one I heard a plane coming down the coast, didn't know it was a biplane until
it reached us and so very lucky that the sun just broke beneath the cloud cover
providing a nice ray :)

This one is up off of Pier 60, they have a Pirate ship that you can take a short cruise on
and I captured this one just as it was rounding the bend;
and it looks like some poor pirate was hung as a warning out there too ;)

She Who Must Be Obeyed took this recently from the front yard.

We are definitely sunset people.

That's a Boeing Stearman if I am not mistaken Gary..........Awesome shot:thumbup:

Thanks I have to try and locate that guy flying the plane, I know the date, should be
an easy thing to see who was flying it that day and give them a larger copy of the photo

We get some decent sunsets here. Summer seems to be best. I took these in my front yard. I suspect that the sunrises are pretty too, but I am rarely up that early and if I am, I'm not interested in taking pictures. ;)

Love the way the plane and water are reflecting the sun .

Yes indeed, that's a great shot.

Now that's a very cool and thoughtful idea. The pilot will love it, I'm sure.

Thanks for sharing, folks. I'm always up for a sunset/sunrise pic. Just something calming about them. :)

Sunrise on the nearby river at its entrance with the Pacific Ocean taken last week by a friend:

Sunsets from Arizona to Africa! Great pictures, they all are stunning.

That's a funny thing about sunsets. They happen just about everywhere. ;)

When I was in Greenland, we had them too. The only problem was in the winter when sunrise and sunset were about 4 hours apart.

Here's a neat one from Alberta Canada.
