Alright guys here is the pre-order for the Super 8 and Fell Chef 2.0. I've condensed them into one thread for simplicity.

We've worked hard on these models and will be keeping them around long term.

But Hunter, why are you doing a pre-order for a model you will have in stock in the future? Well, there's a number of reasons. Doing a pre-order helps me decide how many I should make, helps me with tooling costs and quicker turn around times, and for the customer, you get the blade made exactly how you want it and at a big discount. Finally, even though I'm keeping them around, it might be several years before these patterns are run again, and with the way inflation is going, I'm sure they will be more expensive to make next time.

Meet the SUPER 8

Listen, I’ve never been a fan of mid sized blades. When it comes to my own use, most of the time I like to carry a monster chopper and pair it with an EDC sized blade.

But, I see how that’s not always practical, and having a knife with a big blade that’s still compact and easy to carry on your belt, and light enough to take on l long trips on foot has its advantages.
So what makes the Super 8 special? Well a lot. I designed this blade from the ground up to be a serious cutter while maintaining enough durability to be used hard and not fail. The blade design features thin .200in thick stock, a tall bevel with a nice belly, + a fuller and moderately skeletonized tang for balance and weight reduction. This knife is not a chopper. It could do some damage in a pinch and has enough pop to chop up small diameter wood, but it’s 100% made to cut and cut well while being durable enough for batoning and blasting through bones. The handle on the Super 8 might be my most comfortable yet. It’s XL sized and you can make powerful cuts without experiencing fatigue or discomfort. If you need to chop, the handle is long enough that you can take a three finger grip and swing it like a mini machete. Finally, its a very small feature, but perhaps my favorite, the belly of the blade is lower than the guard so you can rock and chop on a cutting board without the guard getting in the way and ruining your veggie cutting session.

Overall, I think this is a seriously awesome blade that you guys will love and I’m able to offer it for this launch at a great price point. Also, it looks incredible. Final note, the scales will have texture, its just not shown on the 3D render.

Which blade steel to pick?

Well that depends on your use, but Here's my take. For 80% of people, Z Tuff is the best choice. Its almost impervious to edge damage, tougher overall, easy to sharpen and strop, and its cheaper. However, if you plan of processing a bunch of wild game like boars elk etc...Z Wear is the way to go as the edge will do better against things like sand or silt in a hide etc.. Personally, I'd just stick with Z Tuff.

FELL CHEF 2.0

Now, onto the Fell Chef.

The original Fell Chef was an accident. Back in 2017, I was making some 12in and 10in Fell Beasts and had a sheath moulding blank cut. It ended up looking alot like a chef knife. I finished out and low and behold, it performed even better than the standard Fell Beast... at everything.

When I came back to knife making in 2024, I knew that I wanted to explore the Fell Chef again, but lean much more heavily into the "Chef" theme. After making a couple prototypes, I landed on a design that is compact, super effective, easy to carry, and has great versatility.

So what is a Fell Chef anyways? Its a hard use chef knife that is equally at home splitting up firewood or doing meal prep at camp as it is in your kitchen.

I'm going to be 100% transparent here. I've made alot of different knives, and the Fell Chef 2.0 is probably the single most useful blade I've ever produced. It can do it all.

The Fell Chef 2.0 Features 11in of cutting edge, an XL handle borrowed from the Fell Beast for comfort during hard use and chopping, and has two small pinch grip scales to assist with a choked up Chef style pinch grip for rock and chopping veggies + other fine dicing work. On the blade side, the Fell Chef features a super tall blade with a massive bevel. (this thing is a whopping 2.5in tall!) The tall blade adds incredible durability while also creating great geometry for cutting. I added a nice big hole in the front so you can hang it on a hook like a butcher knife.

As an added bonus, the whole package is super compact. Its only 16.4 inches overall. You are getting a ton of blade length and utility for the footprint. At 22 ounces, it also easy to carry and won't give you fatigue, while still packing a punch for chopping.

*Note the pinch grip scales will be larger than is shown on the model. They will be 3/8th in thick and They are also fully removable.

Now for Options.
Because this is a chef knife, I'm taking a departure from my usual handle material of choice in terotuf. Its hard to clean and not very hygenic so It wont be used on this model.

Additionally this model uses 1/2in thick scales. This limits material choice, and can make some options exorbitantly expensive. I apologize in advance, but there just will not be many handle options for these, but the ones I am offering, are pretty dang cool. To provide more options and make things more reasonable, several of these options will utilize a 1/8th thick black G10 liner to cut cost. It will still look great, and you can save you over $100 on some of the nicer materials. The pinch grip scales will be the same material as the main scale.

If you are worried about the 1/2in scales being too thick, this model can also utilize the 3/8th thick scales from the Tyrant Bowie (no extra charge, included in base price) Just let me know, I've had several guys that would be buying this for their wives and a thinner grip would be better. I have a ton of Tyrant Bowie scales in stock.

Which steel to pick? Its your call, but personally, I'd go with Z Tuff. Its better for chopping and hard use and when it comes to food prep, most of the things we are cutting aren't abrasive. Its also less expensive. If you are processing a bunch of animal carcasses like wild boar where there can be quite a bit of sand and silt in their hides, Z Wear is better, but other than that, I'd just go with Z Tuff.

In for the Fell Chef in Z Tuff. Probably DLC & black G10. Could be tempted by black dunes CF.

Does the Fell Chef have a sheath?

In. I'll take a fell chef and a super 8. Both in z-wear and stonewashed with midnight jute micarta.

Would it be possible to get OD green g10 liners on the scales instead of black?

Also, I know it's a big ask and may not be possible, but could I get the fell chef without the pinch grip scales and hole in the blade? I totally understand if that's not possible.
