I have (I think) the entire set of current Spyderco Super Blue knives in gray FRN. Am I missing any? I know about the 2 Calys in SB & G10, but just looking to collect the gray FRN set.

Anyhow, here is what I currently have. Let me know what I am missing, if anything. Would love it if Sal & Co. decided to produce a Native 5 & Manix 2 that match the set as well. ;)

(Left to right, up to down)

  1. Endura
  2. Ladybug
  3. Manbug
  4. Stretch
  5. Delica
  6. Dragonfly

Thanks for looking. :)

Very nice collection. I really like my superblue dragonfly and i had thoughts of collecting all of them as well. It is nice to see them all lined up. Do you have a pic of them open?
Thank you for posting. Nathan

Are you sure you don't have the Man and Lady bugs mixed up? It is playing tricks on my eyes:p I say Stretch for the win. I only have a Stretch and Delica.

Nice family photo. I have all but the Ladybug and Manbug but I might still end up with a Manbug. I got a backup Stretch SB as it is one of my most frequently carried models. I doubt we will ever see a Manix 2 or Native 5 in Super Blue as those models have always been made in Golden and the Hitachi made steel is exclusive or at least semi-exclusive to Japan. The Caly 3.5 SB is still my favorite of all.

No pic of them open, but I'll try to get one if I can get enough sunlight for them to show decently. :) [Edit: added pics. See post #10 below]

Lol! I did have them mixed up (fixed). They are very close in size in SB, so yeah, they were transposed. The only real difference is the size of the handle (Manbug just a tad beefier) and that is a very small difference. Once you get them out of the box they can easily be mixed up - by me anyway. Obviously. :D

The Stretch and Delica are my 2 favorites out of the bunch.

I'm sure that you are right re: Manix/Native. Would still love to have those 2 models in SB, understanding that it is highly unlikely for the exact reasons that you stated. :)

As for the Caly - I'm not a huge fan of G10, for the most part. I know that is counter popularity, but I much prefer FRN. I will, probably, still get a Caly in CF one day.

Edit:
Greykilt and wire edge - thank you!

Ok now I have my heart set on a Caly CF Super Blue as that is a variation that should be doable and that we haven't seen yet.

THAT would be a great knife. I would buy it in a heartbeat. ;)

They do have both of the Calys in CF/ZDP-189 and I have those on my wish list.

@navin74

Looked like rain and I have a poor lighting systems for photos, but the sun came back out just long enough...

So, per your request: :)

  1. Manbug; Ladybug
  2. Endura
  3. Stretch
  4. Delica
  5. Dragonfly

Thank you very much. I may have to get a stretch now....
Nathan

Love the Stretch. Wasn't sure that I would, but when I got my first one it quickly became one of my favorite EDCs. lately, with the purchase of the new Manix S110V, a BM 940-1, and a ZT0770CF (obviously, I like light weight knives ;) ) it has been sitting in its drawer much more often (the SB version here doesn't get used) but that doesn't lessen its appeak as a great EDC, IMHO. :)

Great selection. :)

Thanks, Rev. :)

For your ongoing commitment to the knife arts, and your unrestrained embrace of overindulgence, I bestow upon you Powernoodle's highly coveted Commendation for Blade Excellence. Well done. That's a fine Super Blue collection. Alas, I own only 3 of the collection, but you have inspired me.

This is about as good as it gets for an urban EDC knife.

"unrestrained embrace of overindulgence". Yep, that is me alright. :D And, yeah, I am a big fan of the Delica. The SB version is really a great EDC.

As for being inspired - go get 'em. The one good thing about collecting this series is that it is not a particularly expensive (compared to many) family of knives to aspire to. Have fun. Thanks for the comments and the Sunday morning chuckle. :)

Nice! I have the SB Stretch in my pocket now and the Endura on the way. Picking up the Delica will be as far as I take the the collection. They will of course all be users.

Working on it...

I honestly can't see myself springing for a Ladybug or a Delica, but the SB Endura is high on my Want List

Great start! :)

But i gotta tell you - the Delica is a pretty sweet knife. Just personal preference, but I like it better than the Endura.

That's a very nice set you got there. I had to force myself not to get any of these because I live right next to the ocean and things rust extremely quickly out here. It's a shame because I really like that gray FRN and have been dying to try out a Stretch.
