Super Bowl's tonight! That means Super Bowl parties. Those mean lots of hard salamis and smoked sausage sticks, good sharp cheddar blocks, stuffed jalapenos ..... not to mention beer caps to be pried off! So, what traditional will be in your pocket tonight when the Broncos and Seahawks get ready to rumble?

For me, it'll be my peanut (just 'cause), and my carbon Opinel no. 8. The buddy hosting the party I'll be at is sure to have a fridge full of beer and a well-worn bottle opener at the ready. So basically I just need to be ready to do some cutting if need be.

Canvas micarta GEC Bullnose will be my go to today. Lots of limes to cut. Should get the patina started well.

This cheesy combo will get me thru the game. Snow should be ending soon.

Very nice, John, as always. Larry makes a fine sheath.

All duties go to a Jerry Halfrich Rounder today. Looking forward to a great game.

"What traditional will you be cutting the cheese with?"

At my house the cutting of the cheese will be preceded by the consumption of the chili.

Hey...somebody had to do it.

Since these are my EDC today they'll be on Super Bowl duty. Primarily the Krein B&T in CPM-D2.

Trust me, you don't want me having anything to do with cutting cheese. Just ask my wife. Nearly twenty years ago I was driving my family to west Tennessee from central Alabama, and the fact that my very young son's teacher nick named him Black Hawk came up. As the discussion meandered the kids decided my native nick name would be Chief Strong Wind.

Superbowl is today? Yay! That means if I time it right no one will be at the grocery store when I go. I just hope there are people restocking and at the checkout counters. ;)

But if I was cutting cheese and such I'd probably opt for a Granddaddy Barlow in a traditional or one of the two Mora's that stay in the kitchen.

Though it's hard to go wrong with a Russell Green River for such duties. Very well suited.

Maybe I'll do some cheese and meats, along with some apples and pears sliced up just for solidarity with the folder. I'll just be watching something else online. ;)

This is my kitchen traditional. No need to change for tonight, as this one is up to any task!

I don't follow that type of sport but I know the excitement of following others!

I'm always keen to prep a snack, cheese, meats, fruits, pickled gherkins etc and for that it's a stainless knife. A Laguiole, Opinel or Slimline Trapper.

For the other absorbing task, bottle opening :D I've found the new GEC Radio Knife to be a major player A great signing in fact ;)

Enjoy yourselves, Will

And you stepped into the breach with no hesitation.

Good man!

LOL!!! I was wondering how long that would take! hehe

My Barlow does all the food prep and meat trimming or cutting these days. Loving the single spey Charlow!

I think I will use this Case - all it has done since I bought it is cut food (the Old Cutler that is in my pocket cuts open fertilzer bags, etc., might not be good to cut food with). OH

Codger just sent me a "new" Schrade USA 8OT. It's going to get a lot of use today and in the future.
Thanks Michael. I owe you big time.
