Knife pride is one thing, but walking around with a folder hanging from your neck is kind of silly.

What I would do is fasten the plate on the front of my outdoor jacket. It comes with a ring attachet there for something or other. If I tether the plate on a very short cord, say half an inch, it would stay there without swinging too much and be very accessible in cold weather without having to open a pocket or unzip my coat. Also very light and more compact than a fixed blade.
