Super CQC-7 questions

I have several questions for everyone.

I am on the fence about getting a super CQC 7, because I am not sure about the added handle length.

How do you feel about it in terms of ergonomics and carry-ability compared to the regular model? Is this knife more suited to people with LARGE hands or can a humble average sized hand tame the beast? :D

Any pictures and/or comments are welcome.

A picture of the regular CQC-7 next to the Super CQC-7 would be a great help as well.

Thanks in advance,

Max

Here are a few of mine in comparison. Each have a purpose of their own. Neither will leaving my side any time soon.

Here's my heavily modded Super CQC7 in hand. The pack of Waves is to give you a size reference for my hand.

... yes, I smoke waved smokes :D

easy1 and Charlie Mike, thanks for the pictures. That was perfect.

Looking at the Super 7 next to the 7A, I have some thinking to do. I have a 7A in my pocket right now, and it is a perfect fit for my hand. I have been meaning to get a chisel ground tanto from emerson, so I may end up with a regular 7B since I know it works for me. But then again, a folding katana sounds pretty nice:p.

Wave smokes? Tshshsh :D

I have both a super7 and a regular7. If the the regular7 fits your hand well, the super will feel big. The handle isn't only longer, it is wider as well. I have large hands and find it almost too big, but not quite. I also really like the feel of the regular7, and think it is one Emerson's best designs.

The "folding Katana" is an apt description.

The Super 8 was too big for my hand. For some reason Emerson has lousy blade to handle ratio.

After 3 months of "final thoughts" I ended up buying the regular CQC-7B. What can I say? It is a perfect fit.

PS- it is a new 2011 version. The G-10 is more grippy and textured. I don't notice any change in liner thickness compared to my other models.

Have my CQC 7 Benchmade since the mid 90's and got a deal on a CQC 7 super this year. Like the super 7 even more than the 7 and you can see I've carried the 7 a LOT!

I've always preferred the BM 975 to the Super 7 and wished that Ernie would produce a "CQC-975" the 975 is thin and has a 4 inch blade with a handle no wider than the regular 7. Only thing wrong with the 975 is it's tip down but I've had mine converted to tip up.

The Benchmade cqc7s were nice for the time but the liner lock is way too thin. The current Emerson productions are much beefier.

Not at all, though I ground off the thumbdisk and enlarged my wave a bit.

Thanks, if that be the case than I think I'll that to my list of things to get.

I was kinda on the fence bout getting a super thinking that maybe the Wave wouldn't work as well.
