BBC reports: Super-hard metal 'four times tougher than titanium'
Interesting it's too hard to grind with diamonds, so sharpening it might be etremely difficult. However once sharpened it might stay that way forever.
Of course "hardness" is only one attribute of a good blade material, but it is a pretty significant one. Ceramic blades have found a niche due to hardness, despite being truly terrible in many other respects.
So a super hard titanium/gold knife that was also strong and light (or not too heavy) would clearly have more going for it than ceramic for a general purpose knife, excepting cost.
