Everybody knows that there is nothing on this earth that is harder on a knife blade then slicing homemade bread. Oh hells ya! and its still shaving sharp after its intense workout! :D

Wow!!! I'm surprised that the lock didn't fail, half way through the loaf!!!

No knife could survive my wife’s cooking. :grumpy:

I think that voids the warranty on those doesn't it?

I just used my Buck-Strider to open a fed-ex envelope. The blade didn't deform noticeably or shatter. (of course I was wearing protective goggles just in case). Kudos to Paul Bos on the excellent heat treat.

is that multi-grain?...sick

It is actaully just the recipe for plain old white bread, but with a bunch of Italian herbs mixed in.

I think I read somewhere that bdried oregano and basil have roughly the same hardness as industrial diamonds, which is what makes this test so hardcore. That and the night vision goggles. :D

It's a great knife! I did a similar test once on spaghetti.........I think I was up to 1000 noodles cuts before the blade became 0.0001% less than shaving sharp:)
I wasn't cheating with night vision goggles either...I did it in the pitch dark!

While it will never replace my Sebenza, the SnG is a fantastic knife. The large finger choil allows for excellent control during precision cutting tasks. The SnG was my first Strider and after 4 more knives, I still keep buying them..........

WOW what a test. I'll hav eno problem putting my Strider through its paces now knowing that it could handle that kinda abuse.

Nice SnG. I like the OD green handles.

The grain structure of the bread is irrelevant to the test.

I disagree, the carbides formed by, say, rye are much harder than those formed by whole wheat. And you don't even want to know the damage pumpernickle can cause!

What's sad is while you're being sarcastic, if you look at a lot of reviews posted here people will say similar things in all seriousness.

"My new 200$ S30V blade cut open a cardboard box and sliced some sheets of paper, and it STILL shaves! :o "

Yeah, 8$ Opinels do that.

Actaully the sad thing is that some knives don't.

I've put 2$ BudK knives through more than that and they'd still shave...what knives are people using to give them such low expectations?
