Good pick. I love my karambits from emerson. I like how the emerson has split ring instead of just 1. For me it balances easier than 1 hole when doing spins. Hope it serves you well.
What I mean is, the finger hole does not allow for comfortable maneuvering of the knife in any rotational manner (which if you don't know what to do, you should not). The ring with the liners in it like that create a hefty amount of friction. As long as you keep it in a fixed grip and don't rotate, you shouldn't have any problems. For instance, when I had the BT version of this knife, I found that the double or "split" ring hampered my rotation when I changed direction of my wrist to extend the reach of a technique (see "Lion Tamer" on Youtube by Wmpyr). With a solid ring, friction would not be an issue and I can execute it repeatedly and just fine with a comparable folding karambit like the Fox. In any case, I suspect that you have this Emerson for the appeal and not necessarily for self-defense or any kind of martial arts usage. It was a decent knife when I had it, but it made me want more from a folding karambit offering. Anyway, good catch on an Emerson.
