Thinking of acquiring a Super Kerambit. With the chisel grind, does that mean it's only ground on one side, or is it a conventional grind down to the edge where it's chisel ground?
Just curious; everything else about the knife seems really cool.

Okay, sounds good to go.
If I can get one new in box for $200, do you think I should jump on it? I think that's a good deal; have any of you seen better deals?

And what's the back spacer made of? Is it one piece or barrel spacers? I can't seem to find a good high resolution shot of the back view.

I would think twice about the Super, unless you have a very large hand that doesn't fit the standard size Combat Karambit well.

I like the longer blade of the Super for classic knife fighting slashes, but for knife boxing (which is where these weapons excell!), I like the lighter and smaller Combat Karambits (better yet two...one in each hand)!

I think the specs for the hole are on the Emerson web site somewhere....I'll take a look.

I have semi-fat fingers, and I had to enlarge the hole on the Combat Karambit a little to fit my index finger easily. No big deal, just had to sand the G10 a little. The Super (in stock form) is actually a little big for my index finger.

Don't go enlarging a hole and get it to big! It would be sloppy, and I think it would detract from weapons retention....

Thanks for the reply.:) I know the hole diameter on the Super is .94, but I can't seem to find the spec for the Combat or Bullnose.

Well thanks for the try. I'll e-mail them and see what they say.

the combat kerambit hole is ~22mm or (~9/10ths) hope this helps

You mentioned the Bullnose. I have the Super, Combat, Bullnose, and La Griffe, and frankly I find the applications for the Bullnose to be kind of limited! For knife boxing, the only place I would choose it would be held blade forward for crossing punches.

In reality, the Bullnose is just a short CQC-10. I know those who are use to classical straight bladed knives, will probably be attracted to the Bullnose just because it resembles something they are use to.

It is worth getting Emerson's traning DVD's, especially if you can't imagine all the different ways you could use a Karambit. Used in knife boxing, you are going to pary and block your opponents moves, yet instead of a bare hand you have these exemely wicked blades at the end of each fist! You opponent is likely to quickly decide that the cost of getting sliced and diced every time he moves, isn't worth it......

Right now, I am carrying the Combat Karambit on the strong-side, and the La Griffe on the off-side (La Griffe techniques are just like Karambit techniques). If I were in a very high risk environment, I would go for a two Combat Karambit carry (one waved forward, and one waved backward).

I have found the Super to be a little large and a bit clumsy for boxing, but a longer blade is sometimes nice. As for the Bullnose, sometimes you have to buy something and try it out, to know how it will actually work in the real world.

Thanks for all the info. I ended up pulling the trigger on the Bullnose Karambit, as it is much more believable as a tool/utility knife.
The Combat and Super DO look better for blade boxing(the curvature is similar to my Kabar TDI), but might be a bit less believable as tools.
If I cut up a few boxes with the Bullnose, it should look "toolish.":)
But, if I like it as much as I imagine, a Super will probably be in next year's future.
