I finally sent it to Reese. I'm having a CF scale with integral spacer and a .160" Ti locking slab. The factory handles will have a non waved damascus blade. I'm expecting a three month wait, maybe more. It will be worth it.

I'm at a dilemma. What would be a stronger material for a handle slab with integral spacer like a SnG or SMF? G10 or CF?

Or should I just have him make an all Ti framelock?

Whatever is stronger. Form follows function for me.

IMO a one piece CF scale and spacer with frame lock would be the best choice.
Full Ti is obviously top notch but CF is going to be lighter and look much better too.

I'll go full Ti. Maybe have him lightly checker the "micarta" part of the slab like the Black Six? Hell, maybe a toxic ano job would be the ticket?

Have him do one side integral CF and the lockbar in Ti.

Of course, you could also try to get that integral spacer / scale made out of Ti. Not sure what it would cost you but it'd be sweet.

Not only that. He's great guy to talk to. He's a wealth of knowledge on more than knives. Did you he's a "lay pastor" at his church? The guy is a bible scholar as well as an amazing knifemaker/machinist. Every project with him has worked smoothly. He may have a bit of a backlog (2 months for some stuff) but his work goes above and beyond.
