The Super Salyan failed to chop through the 2x3 in the 3" direction.

However it snapped through them about 80% of the time with one blow. The Super Salyan was held with one hand and an overhead swing was used. I put all the energy I could into it. The 2x3 were nailed to a pallet and the pallet was stood on its end. So the arrangement looked like a ladder. When it failed to snap the 2x3 a couple of chops will pull the nails holding it up.

A safety warning is required here. A 5.65 LB khukuri is very difficult to bring to a stop. Keep in my what is in the arc of the khukuri if it suddenly snaps through.

Interesting results Will, one thing to mention concerning heavy chopping in this manner, if you put a very large piece of wood directly in the path of the chop you can control the khukuri if it clears the wood. Of course now you face the problem of trying to remove it from your chopping block.

Thanks for the review Will--I've been wondering what its like to swing that beast. I can imagine how hard it is to stop a full force swing with that weight! My 20" AK weighs in at just over 3 lbs, and its hard to stop when it unexpectedly flys through what I'm chopping. Sounds like good advice from Cliff, as usual.
