I was looking around at a showroom that a big local cleanout business runs and found one decent old axe out front. I was kind of surprised that it was all they had, so I mentioned to the woman at the desk that I was looking for that type of thing. She called the owner over and asked if he had anything else, he said yes, come on downstairs! Downstairs was a huge sorting area, or an area for things not "good enough" for the antique type showroom. Above is what I found waiting in a plastic bin.
There is a massive fire axe head, marked U.S, and H.S.
A boy's axe sized Pulaski, with an old style Collins Legitimus logo.
2 unknown maker boy's axe sized heads on 20 inch handles.
A full sized axe Mann Edge Tool, USA
A full sized Kelly's Flint Edge, Charlestown W. VA Hand Forged
2 unknown hatchet/boy's axe heads
an unknown old style camp/scout hatchet
A Stanley hatchet
A super nice Winchester Trade Mark USA roofer hatchet
another nice unknown carpenter hatchet
An AWESOME to be determined carpenter hatchet, best condition I have yet seen, still has a paper label
And my favorite, a Warren Axe Old Faithfull hatchet.
Also included were two nice splitting wedges, a 20 inch handle, a pick/mattock handle, a great little straight pein hammer and a 32" double bit axe handle.
$70 for the lot, how did I do?
