Super Sebenza?

Since he developed the Sebenza, CR has come out with smaller models like the Mnandi and the Umfaan. Do you think he'll ever come out with a larger one?

With the popularity of the Strider folders as well as the Spyderco Manix and other big "beefy" folders I'd think there would be a market for it.

Now, don't leap upon my poop here; I realize the Sebenza IS a stout knife, but I'm talking about a step further, like a 1/4" thick 4" blade that would compete directly with aforementioned knives.

Think it'll ever happen?
 
Do A search... I could be wrong but I believe the topic has come up before... I don't think it was much of a possibility from what I remember- unless of course Chris changes his mind... ;)
 
The Sebenza is more of an industrial knife than a survival knife, although a lot of people have used it successfully in the woods. But Chris started out by making combat knives, his one-piece models, and if you want a Sebenza on a par with a Strider or Manix, get a Sable III.

I've got an Aviator, Shadow IV, and Sable I. ;) I want a big-arse folder darnit! :D
 
While we're at it I'd like to see a really big Umfaan!! Maybe about the size of a large Sebbie. I wonder what CR would call it?? ..... Oh yeah, ...... "large Sebbie" ...... never mind. :o :D ;)
 
I think that the Firetac is a custom knife made by RJ Martin. I'm pretty sure Chris has said if you need a blade longer than 3 1/2 inches, you need a fixed blade. Personally, I tend to use my Mnandi more than anything else.

chris probably passed on the idea of a larger sebenza after handling a firetac extreme.

All in good fun Garlic. I have been a staunch admirer of the Sebenza for a long time, and have a number of them to go through my hands. Always wanted that supersized one and this is the closest I've ever come to it! :D :cool: :D
