So, we showed everybody this picture last week with a bit of a teaser . . .
. . . and here are a couple more pics of the super secret squirrel project as it progressed . . .
. . . and of course the final product.
Every knifemaker eventally makes a sword, and Scott had to do something a little special with his first.
Steampunk Sword Cane
Steel: 1080/15n20 pattern welded steel
Finish: Hand-sanded, etched, and Parkerized
Cane: Patinaed copper with fileworked bronze spacer
Scabbard: Wood with Damascus throat
The copper swirls provide indexing and decoration.
No, Scott doesn't get out of the boots much. Heck, with Blade on the horizon, I barely let him out of the shop.
The Damascus throat adds beauty and gives two Rare Earth Magnets purchase when the sword is sheathed.
Don't ask about the thumb. It's a painful subject
Yes Mr. White - while exploring the Damascus path one certainly needs a good "walking stick", and one with a dagger is certainly better than one without
Thanks for looking. This cane will be on display at Blade - table 21R.
