I liked the Super SOG Bowie so much I bought 2 of them! As time has passed I wish the handle wasn’t so big and fit in my hand better. I don’t want to sell the knife, I would like to get a custom handle for it! Any suggestions? I’d like a thinner profile and something a little more squared off, rectangular, and no so rounded as stock.

You will need to find a custom maker to do that for you or learn how to do it yourself. The last knife I had done was by Pete Winkler of cross knives. He did a great job! I am not sure if he does stacked leather, but it doesn't hurt to ask. Good luck! Put some pictures up when it is done.

Before you take the handle off take a file and sandpaper to it. See what you can do to shape it.
That's exactly what I'd do.
I did it to my 119 special and am pleased with the feel now.
Aesthetically I'd do more if I didn't want to deal with refinishing the guard and pommel but it feels great now.

I’m in the middle of reshaping a 119 Special too!!! She is shaped the way I want (much thinner) but I have to remove the scratches. Better finish before the garage has to sealed up with the chill of winter....that artificial handle is nasty stuff to sand.

I didn't find the phenolic very difficult to work with, but I did use a file first.
