Auntie during my visit invited to me to post these knives in her behalf. Follow standard protocol and email Auntie as normal to get done deal and shipping cost.

She has several of these and she is offering them for 100 bucks even, a much reduced price to infuse more money into the shop rebuild and Kami relief funds.
She posted a blem a few days ago.
It's a 17.5" 28 oz Balance knife by Navin Rai kami.
I held one while there (well duh?) and it's sweeter in person than in pictures. The handle is beautifully carved and feels really good in hand. The copper wrap adds a touch of class and doesn't effect grip badly in the least. The mans head is in the grip but it felt like it would encourage a proper snap chop if a guy made one of these a user. And no I didn't get to bring one home but I'm thinking I might, ended up with a little bit of trip funds left over.

Ok, Ok, pictures or it didn't happen.

Wifes very first modeling debut.

So as usual email Auntie for one or all. I suggest run, don't walk to your computer.

I really love the funky shape of the blades on these . One day I'll buy one and glue a moustache to the face and call it Bawanna.

How bout I shave mine off, glue it on and we can call it a mandau balance knife?

When I initially saw the pictures the other day, it caught my eye but didn't really break out in song for me.
When I saw it in person and held it, it was quite another story. The balance is quite nice. Perhaps the logic behind the name. Hey, I'm not the sharpest blade in the sawmill but I see the correlation.

I might also add that I asked auntie if a different person carved the handles on these ornately carved knives and swords and such and she said the kami that makes the knife generally carves the handle too. Perhaps you already knew this but I always wondered myself.

There's a ton of talent just in that handle alone. I know I couldn't duplicate it in 6 months with any tool known to man.

Them kami's is good.

Oh how I'd love to buy this, but knowing that I use blades (and often bugger them up at LEAST once) I'd feel awful if I banged up the carving on this one. I absolutely adore the blade shape of it though. I might just wait 'til there's one with a non-carved handle. Rai Kami sure has his own style, and I like it!

Did Navin Rai kami also make the sheath? The style looks a lot like the ones done by some of our forumite leatherworkers.

Oh sure, hit a first timer with trick questions. She didn't mention any of our leatherworkers and I assume it was a sarki over there that made them.

As she said she had several of these knives I assume they all have that style sheath, I only held and fondled one.

Darth has me thinking a guy could just get two, one for show and one for go as it were.
It did in fact have a worker feel to it. The couple examples I have with carved handles really have a nice solid grip.

But the pretty factor is there. The copper wrap would seem to reinforce I would think.

My Purna Dui Chirra was supposed to be just a looker. That is till I started chopping with it. My Samsher/Mk. 1 Replica by Thamar was supposed to be a looker, now it's my primary user. The whole two idea sounds good to me!

Very attractive khuk, Bawanna. That sheath just makes sense to me and should be great in the field.

I bought one of Navin Rai's knives, and I'm really pleased with it. It has crisp lines and the carved handle is unique. (mine is a carving representing Garuda - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garuda) It has become one of my favorites. :)

Looks like Navin Rai Kami's mark is the trident.

Ok boys and girls I just contacted Auntie and she informs me she has 9, NINE, count them one less than 10 of these knives looking for homes. 9 homeless knives, sad. Beautiful but begging to be users. Felt like a chopper to me with a nice forward weight balance.
She informs that some have copper wire as pictured above and some have brass wire. Your choice.

My future as a khukri sales helper assistant trainee is in dire jeopardy as we speak.

Operators are standing by, well I guess we only got one operator, Auntie but she is standing by, think I watch too many of them cheap junk commercials. But wait! Act now and we'll include an autographed photo of Bookies very own Cutie Curls, suitable for framing, not available in any store...................

Hit that email now!

Bawanna, do correct me, please, but am I to understand that there are only 9 of these khukuri and there will probably not be any more made in the near future? Like perhaps these are "special"?

I could never correct you Bookie. Your spot on. Only 9 and most likely none certainly in the near future.
Wish now I'd looked at the brass wrapped ones, but has to be similar and I was quite enamored with the one I held. Only saw one.
Might only be 8 in a bit after I check my figures. Sadly not much to figure if you get the flow of my river. Was gonna help Kamidog with his Hanshee but Mopar saved us on that transaction. I will try to do it again on the next one.

Thanks for the photos Gunstockj. Definitely some fine lines and no doubt about the quality of Navin Rai Kamis abilities. This blade looks like an AK with some serious drop much like a Hanshee / Gelbu hybrid. Awesome design. When I get off vacation and if I still have a job i might just have to latch on to one of these. I suspect they are awesome choppers. Love the cho!
Yep Mopar did save me. I was surely bound for the doghouse.

Sham sarki made sheaths for Rai Kami Knives. Any one who want to buy the Rai Kami knife then simply email me at himimp@aol.com

I love carved handles like that. I have a big ol' Garuda AK from a decade back that lives under my bed. Just a gorgeous blade.

These looks like they should be tucked into the belt of any monster slayer worth his salt;) Simply lovely:)

Last report these beauties are NOT flying off the shelves. Strange being they are so special and dedicated to funds for shop rebuild.

Don't forget act now and get a personally autographed photo, suitable for framing of Cutie Curls.

Offers like this don't come along every day.
