I just got my Super-tool 200 back from LM warranty. I had the pliers changed and they did a great job....however, they took it upon themselves to crank down the pivot pins on all the tools. They are now a bugger to open, even after lubing and working them open and closed. Any way to loosen them up, the pin heads look to take a dedicated tool, don't want to Mar them up, nor am I looking forward to sending it back to LM for round two.

Heres what I do...works great and leaves no scratches etc.

Use two vise grip pliers.

Use a paperback book type cardboard between the plier jaws and the screw heads to avoid any marks on them.

I use the tip end of the pliers (not the sides).

I adjust them just enough to get the bite they need for them not to slip, I hold one of them steady and only turn the one.

Isn't it that the pivot posts are cemented? Therefore, in loosening them, you are also "breaking" the cement on the pins. You should also consider adding a drop of locktite to the pins before tightening them to your desired level. =)
