Could somebody post a picture of their Super Tinker along side with, say a PM2, Dragonfly, or Griptilian? I am debating getting the Super Tinker but I'm worried that it will be a little too thick to EDC. Also, is the Victorinox logo painted on or is it metal inlay? Thanks!

I think you might be right. If they could release a version of the Super Tinker with Alox scales that would be just about perfect. At least it only ways around 3oz.

Its at my limit for pocket carry, but still doable. I carry a Farmer daily, which is also a 3 layer knife, but the alox scales make it a hair thinner.

Dunno. I carry mine in a belt pouch along with some other items. Seems lumpy in pocket, but maybe that's just me. ;)

I carry one everyday and don't find it noticeable about 99% of the time. Unfortunately, I don't have a thickness comparison picture, but its the PM2's thickness plus another Para blades worth.

Here it is next to a Para 1 and Manix 2, also the shield is metal.

My solution is to carry a Leatherman Micra in my LFP pocket with a single blade knife of choice in my RFP.

The Micra weighs little and folds up nice and flat. Along side of my money clip, it is really unnoticeable in my pocket. Carrying it in my pocket, and not on my key ring, transformed things for me. The tools are always with me and I can use them without keys flopping around. Also, I can change my knife carry to suit my needs and whims. Most days, the big and tough Opinel. Other days, the thinner and sexier Buck 500. Other days, the small but tough Schrade 5OT. Different knives. Same tools on the Micra.

When I open the Micra, I get a tool selection that matches my EDC needs perfectly. I use each and every of these tools on a regular basis. I also hardly ever find myself needing an awl, bag hook or a can opener.

If your need is to have more EDC functionality in your pocket and if you already have single blade knives that fit your lifestyle, you might consider the Micra as an alternative.

I was going to post some pictures, until I realized that I didn't have anything comparable to the above mentioned knives to actually put in the picture next to the Super Tinker.

Hey zap, love the pouch! Yes, what is it and whre do you get one?

They're available at a certain online retailer that shares the name of a certain river, if you catch the drift. They come in small, medium, and large. And depending on what color combination you pick, you can get all three sizes for just under what the Super Tinker costs on the same site.

But I still want to know what size it is we're looking at.

Don't have the ones you mentioned.
The SuperTinker logo is metal inlay if you get the regular Cellidor scales or painted silver if you get the matte nylon Ecoline scales.

Is that the Mixx Small or Medium that you've got there?

Small Mixx. It's really for cell phones, I think, but works fine as a belt carried tool kit. I got that and two mediums for 50 cents apiece at photography shop going out of business (Cord Camera in Columbus, actually very sad :( , I'd been a customer there for decades.) Those were the last they had. The mediums are only slightly larger. I use one for a similar pack that replaces the Super Tinker with a Rebar and the Juice P4 with a Micra. These cases are made by (for) Tenba, a good quality supplier.

Okay you sold me. I'm gonna get myself the medium pouch for my Fieldmaster, Rebar, and a few other goodies that I've been looking to carry when I'm not on the job. Thanks for being so informative about a handy accessory I never would've found on my own.

I just got my medium Tenba pouch. I put my Fieldmaster, Rebar, and a AAA flashlight in it, and it all fits snugly, rides nicely on the belt too. Unfortunately the weight is starting to hurt my back when I wear it.

Too much! Some people just want it all. Fieldmaster or Rebar. Choose and your back will thank you. :)

What can I say? I don't know any better. I want the scissors and the pliers, and I don't know a lighter way to have it readily available.

For 9 years, my multi-tool EDC was a Super Tool and Micra. They were a perfect match for their time, but eventually I transitioned to an updated versionsof the ST. However, I still carry the Micra, in my estimation one of the better offerings from Leatherman. Pair it with a Rebar and you'll have it all, except for the (unsanitary) toothpick. :)
