G10, light weight. Titanium, super cool looking, different, but heavier. If you could only get one, which one would you get?

Hello,

I have both of them, I got the g10 first then about 3 months later got the Ti. I edc the g10 almost every day at work and its great. The Ti has that extra cool factor just because of the Ti. I say get the g10 and if you enjoy the Military, down the road when you have the cash get the Ti.

Have a good one,

Chris

The G10 Military is my favorite knife. However, working in the sand and dirt a lot I have come to appreciate the simplicity of framelock knives. The sound of sand crunching between the scales of a liner lock makes me cringe and has prevented me from closing the knife a few times. All you have to do is tap it out but eventually you will want to either give it a bath or take it apart to clean it all out. I don't enjoy knife maintenance beyond wiping down and oiling once in a while. That would be the only benefit to me. In most other scenarios I'll take the lighter Military.

I transplant higher-end blades into Ti Militaries because I prefer the framelock. The only non-framelock military I'm keeping is the CF one from the M390 with a DLC blade. I like the added heft of the framelock, but I'm in the minority that prefer them over the G10. I even got another Ti military so I could put the non-locking Ti scale on an M4.

i experienced blockage due to dirt with another liner lock (not a spydey.) this is basically what made me convert to framelocks. but for regular edc in the city, i reckon a good liner lock should have to trouble. so, if in the city for edc, i'd take a g-10 military. for field or a survival situation, my titanium millie.

there're few things more satisfying than seeing your prize is even better than you thought. when i got the ti millie, i thought it would be just a looker and occasional EDC, never to see actual use. well, when i got to slicing the christmas ham, i fully appreciated the stainless s30v and the titanium. cleaning away the grease and the gunk was a breeze, certainly easier than an frn or a g-10.

we heard mass on christmas morning at the parish church. the patron saint is st. bartholomew, patron saint of knives.
