I missed a beautiful stag-hafted Bowie that Charlie had posted earlier this year but didn't miss the opportunity to contact him and get with him on another when he was able....this is the result.
16 1/2" OAL with about an 11" blade, 1 5/8" wide. All of the fittings are forged on this piece with the spacer and pommel 'fitted' to the great stag handle, a first for him and he did an outstanding job, IMHO. He said the fittings were forged from the rims of old wooden wagon wheels that were on his place and I can't remember what the blade steel is but I think W2...I'm finding out.
EDITED TO ADD: The steel is Aldo's 1095fg
He's making a simple stud belt-sheath but had forged an extra pommel and is going to work it to replicate the pommel on the knife for the stud...ought to be a nice pair.
