We’re back with another knife for SuperBen! This weeks beauty is a tapered tang Bushfinger with Curly Oak scales.

Knifeleather has been kind enough to donate a handmade Bushfinger sheath. It is made from Wicket & Craig leather, deerskin lined, US made military grade snaps and D-ring. This one has beeswax finish. We can't thank him enough for this awesome contribution.

Here is an update from Ben's Mom -

"Ben is doing okay, we still don't have seizure control, so we are going to Nyu to have a two part Brain surgery. The whole process is pretty extensive, it's looking like Ben and I will be there about a month for the whole thing, scary.

Our hope is to get rid of tuber (tumor) in his occipital lobe (eye sight) and get rid of tuber that's causing the most seizures. Then get him off a few meds and on to Cann oil, now that it's legal. We have a cardiologist appointment Friday and an appt with dermatologist for a possible Tumor in his thumb, weirdness. He stopped saying Da da recently, probably due to seizures and he's still on 4 meds.

On a positive note Ben is walking fantastically and he got a walker to help him and he's doing great! He is a fighter for sure, keeping us all on our toes, he now cries when you leave and when he wants to go in living room to play in mornings, which cognitively it's an excellent sign, he can also roll ball back and fourth with a lot of work and he is working on holding a spoon;) he's amazing

We appreciate all the blessings you have given us, we can never tell you enough how much it has helped."

For payment we request that you pay directly to the GoFundMe account (after confirmation here)- This simplifies things for us quite a bit!! Please put a note in when you do and we'll ship the knife out as usual.

2015 0331 01 - Bushfinger with Curly Oak over black with white pinstripes, Tapered Tang, convex on 1/8" spalted 01 steel, with handmade leather sheath compliments of Knifeleather - $430

Crazy as it sounds, curly oak isn't for me. But i am going to head over to the gofundme page to do what i can. Thanks for the reminder on this worthy cause.

Thanks, Andy. You know I'm a sucker for a nice piece of stabilized oak. I'll be watching this closely!

Ben is a little stud. Amazing package here, that sheath looks to be of the finest craftmanship Mark. Someone's going to be real happy with this one.

Payment made - I put a note in the comments section of my donation. Let me know who to contact re. my shipping address in the USA.

It'll be my second ever Fiddleback Forge knife and I just couldn't think of a better reason to spend my bonus money. I brilliant idea - thank you to all involved.

Prayers inbound for Ben and his family...

Ben (another one!)

...oh, and thanks so much for walking me through the process - I really appreciate it! ;)

Nice score! That Oak is super fantastic!!! It almost looks like lacewood! I have never seen oak like Fiddleback has used over the last year or so. I really enjoy using a knife here in Virginia on the AT and like with wood that is native to the area. Walnut, Oak, Maple, Sycamore, Locust...

Thanks Vance - I really appreciate it, although there is no crazy rush to mail it as I won't be back Stateside for a few weeks yet. All the more reason to look forward to heading back! ;)

I agree with you willic (obviously!) but honestly, I think that I'd have pulled the trigger on one of these Tuesday knives anyway. Just about the best excuse to buy a knife I have ever had.

I promise you guys that this knife will be put to work once I am back...

Thanks again to all involved.

Ben

Thanks Peroni!

Thank you Bamboo and Dman3d, but hold on a second, all I did was pull the financial trigger - a bunch of other deserving and talented folks went into making this happen - I just happen to be happily at the end of it...

Very grateful and blessed. Prayers still going out to Ben and his family.

Cheers,

Ben
