Hi folks,

Well, we missed last Tuesday’s SuperBen so we wanted to make up for it today. While we were up at the Knifemaker’s Guild Show this past weekend we had several of our local Georgia Knifemakers express interest in doing what they could to help support Ben and his family. So, we left the show with a handful of their knives which are listed below. In addition we’ve had a couple of forum members donate knives to the cause – the Fiddleback, 40 Point, and Valkyrie knives were all Bladeforum donations.

100% of the proceeds go directly to Ben’s family. We’ll post updates on his condition as we get them. For all of these if you win the knife you can Paypal us as normal – fiddlebackpayments(at)att.net, and please put a note saying which knife and mention Ben.

Thank you everybody. This is genuinely one of the highlights of our week around here.

Hey Ken,
I'll take the K9 if it's still up for grabs.

You can't go wrong on any of these. I know all the makers and all are excellent quality.
I appreciate Andy giving me the opportunity to contribute. I plan to have another ready for Super Ben by the time Trackrock rolls around at the end of Sept (26-27). It will be a "special" knife.
Thanks Andy and Ken.

You got it TT! Thank you very much.

Scott and Carl - thanks for jumping in here and for the donations. I realized as I was writing the thread up that I should have gotten a few more details from you guys regarding the knives while at the show. Next time I'll get all the facts!

Hi folks, We got an update from Becky this morning, along with this beautiful photo. Sounds like some good news along with continued challenges. Our thoughts go out to the little guy. We still have a few knives available above - Will's hand forged knife, Scott's skeleton knife, and Judy's Roark. We'll have another offering this coming Tuesday as well.

"Happy Friday!! So, we have a few more days left on the prednisone and Ben is doing so much better, he is having just a handful of seizures a day. He lost 4.5 lbs in two weeks which is expected. We got some difficult news last week with Ben's ultrasound of his kidneys, he has multiple cysts through out both of kidneys, it appears to be related to the TSC. For us it just means that his kidneys are now involved. The cyst didn't seem to be affecting them, until this past week; we notices he was passing large amount of white matter when peeing. So, we went to see a new pediatrician and did a bunch of test yesterday, the pediatrician seems to think it is kidney stones, he has slept a lot in the last 24hrs, we had a kidney and liver function test and are waiting to get the results. We are praying for good results and that these are not kidney stones and just a weird fluke. It could also be polycystic kidney disease. We will most likely follow up with a nephrologist in the next few weeks to confirm. Even though he has all this going on this picture says it all , he is a fighter for sure. We will let you guys know as soon as we know more. We appreciate all that you guys have done and all the prayers, they are def working."

Lots of Love
Ben, Becky & James

Wow. This thread does my heart and mind such good. and yet is so bitter sweet for me. Children are the only ones with full access to my heart, parts of it were permanently closed off to adults during my childhood It's always nice to get views of the brighter sides of humanity. I can't do anything financially right now, if I could I'd snag that knife of Judy's, but Ben stays in my thoughts and prayers.

I'll take Scott's skeleton knife. It'll be the second Scott Davidson for me and can't seem to wear out the first one. Thanks for your help, Scott! You guys don't miss out on Will Dutton's work. He's a first class knifemaker and a first class man. That's all hand forged and put together by a true craftsman.

I'll second that on Brother Will, good man and excellent knifemaker. He is problematic to hang around with, likes ice cream too much!

Andy/Ken - if Judy's "Roark" is still available when the Guild meeting happens at Dennis's, bring it (and I can make it up there - still undetermined). >I'll take it, even though it's not the blue handled one I wanted.<
