Well I'm mailing out my 2nd check to help Ben Ruppe today. You guys have given 3 knives and I have given two. I am amazed and inspired by your generosity. The first check to Helping Hands was $750 and was collected from the two knives I have donated and $30 from my daughter's lemonade stand as well. Today's check was $940 and came from three knives you folks have donated. I am very grateful for the help. Now that we are back in production, you can expect one knife to be sold off for Super Ben next Tuesday.
Becky sent me a note, and it was sweet, so I am copying it here:
You and those amazing good hearted people.
James and I are so blessed by everyone's support. Honestly I'm crying this morning already. We were told yesterday if his VEEG test shows something tomorrow, they are wanting to try a daily injection of some pretty harsh stuff. We dont want to do that. I believe in my heart that medical cann oil would have stopped his seizures just based on the report I'm getting from other parents who are there. We are limited for options, so if the infantile spasms don't stop soon we may split up our home between here and Colorado. I don't want him to have a mind of a 3 year old at 6. I want a good life for him.It makes me so angry that I'm even having to think of breaking up our home because of GA politics. Anyways, sorry to unload.
These funds are already helping soooo much. We just payed off two medical bills from when he was born and have been able to use the remainder of funds towards a better carseat that reclines when he has seizure. We also need a seizure monitor. We are probably going to purchase a heart and breathing monitor first, so if he stops breathing it will sound us, they are less expensive. The little chunker decided he wants to be a stomach sleeper and it it worries me to death that he will have a seizure face down. Then if there is some funds left we will put that towards our airfare to to try to get to Washington DC for The TSC Med Conf.
Please let everyone know how grateful we are for their generosity. This is truly making a difference in Bens life and ours.
Lots of Love,
Becky & James &
Ben
